Crime

Alcohol can be associated with a variety of crimes, ranging from minor public order offences which are anti-social by behaviour, through to traffic offences, minor assaults, serious assaults and even homicide.

Western Australians have told us that in the past, they didn’t have anyone they could call if they were experiencing alcohol-related problems resulting in crime or likely to result in crime. Property damage, people being placed in fear, drunken people continuing to be served alcohol and causing problems later. These are examples of common occurrences that people wanted to report but were unsure who would help.

Alcohol Think Again and Crime Stoppers have formed a partnership which aims to:

  • Increase community awareness and understanding of the link between alcohol and crime.
  • Increase the awareness of Crime Stoppers within the community as a place to call to report alcohol related crime.

If people begin reporting, there is a greater likelihood that these crimes and related problems can be stopped.

If you have information regarding alcohol related crime for example, liquor outlets serving juveniles, adults supplying alcohol to minors or any other crime where alcohol abuse is a factor please complete the online form or ring the Crime Stoppers hotline on 1800 333 000.

Please note that Crime Stoppers does not:

  • Provide legal advice;
  • Provide feedback to persons other than the original caller;
  • Investigate matters reported to them;
  • Accept calls from people who are abusive or intoxicated;
  • Take reports from members of the public for ‘over-the-counter’ matters normally dealt with at police stations;
  • Dispatch vehicles to offences.

Please remember, if you need immediate Police assistance, call 000. For Police attendance, call 131 444.
